Before use or installation:

It is strongly recommended that installation is performed by a qualified professional and that this user manual is read carefully prior to installation. Incorrect installation may result in malfunction, damaging the device or incorrect configuration.

  1. QCBox is an electronic device which dramatically reduces wiring and installation time of VAVs and the E35 room controller.
    • QCBox is an electronic device which dramatically reduces wiring and installation time of VAVs and the E35 room controller.

    • It supplies 24 V AC power for up to 4 VAV actuators, 1 E35 room controller and 1 PIR sensor.

    • It enables the installer to connect the VAV actuators, E35 and PIR sensor together using standard straight CAT5 Ethernet cables instead of screw type terminal blocks.

    • E35 communicates with VAV actuators using the analog 0-10V signal or BACnet RS485 MS/TP protocol.

    • The markings on the device casing indicate the pins where the signals are connected on QCAdapter.

  2. There are two posibilities for mounting the QCBox: DIN rail mounting: While holding the DIN rail clip open with a screw driver, attach it to the rail. When the QCBox is in place, release the clip.

    • Mounting to a surface: Please use four included screws to mount the QCBox directly to the surface. The diameter of the holes is 4 mm.

    • WARNING! Disconnect the power supply prior commencing installation or any wiring!

    • Use a standard ethernet (CAT5 straight) cable to connect E35 VAV room controller.

    • Be sure to order E35 wall mount with the RJ45 connector instead of the terminal block connector version.

  5. Use a standard ethernet (CAT5 straight) cable to connect the  VAV actuator.
    • Use a standard ethernet (CAT5 straight) cable to connect the VAV actuator.

    • One QCBox can power a maximum of 4 VAV actuators.

    • Connect the VAV / Next QCBox port with a standard ethernet (CAT5 straight) cable to either RJ45 port 1 or 2 on the QCAdapter.

    • Connect the QCAdapter terminal block pins to the corresponding signals on the VAV actuator. The signal positions on the QCAdapter is numbered on the QCBox’s label. The signal positions are drawn on the picture to the left.

    • Use a standard ethernet (CAT5 straight) cable to connect the presence sensor.

    • The QCBox provides 24V AC supply for the PIR sensor.

    • Only the contactless PIR sensor is supported.

    • Connect the QCAdapter’s terminal block pins to the corresponding signals on the PIR sensor. Only BIN signal should be connected.

    • Use a standard ethernet (CAT5 straight) cable to connect to the next QCBox. Connect the cable from the other, unconnected RJ45 port on the QCAdapter to the E35 VAV port on the other QCBox.

    • Do not connect more than 32 QCBB devices in series on the same power supply rail
